Ingredients

1 pound ground beef

1 onion, finely chopped

1/2 cup breadcrumbs

1 large egg

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon salt

1/2 teaspoon black pepper

1/2 cup beef broth

2 cups fresh green beans, trimmed

2 cups diced potatoes

1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

1/2 cup milk

1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce

Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).

Prepare the Beef: In a large mixing bowl, combine ground beef, chopped onion, breadcrumbs, egg, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper. Mix well until all ingredients are incorporated. Shape the mixture into 4 patties.

Sear the Patties: In a large skillet over medium-high heat, lightly brown the hamburger patties for about 4 minutes on each side. This adds extra flavor and locks in juices. Remove from skillet and set aside.

Prepare Vegetables: In the same skillet, add the diced potatoes and green beans, sautéing for about 5 minutes until they start to soften.

Make the Sauce: In a bowl, whisk together beef broth, milk, and Worcestershire sauce. Pour this mixture over the sautéed vegetables in the skillet. Stir to combine.

Assemble the Bake: In a greased 9x13 inch baking dish, layer the sautéed vegetables and broth at the bottom. Place the browned hamburger patties on top of the vegetables.

Add Cheese: Sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese evenly over the hamburger patties.

Bake: Cover the dish with aluminum foil and bake in the preheated oven for about 45 minutes. Remove the foil for the last 10 minutes to allow the cheese to melt and turn golden.

Serve: Once done, remove from the oven and let it rest for 5 minutes. Garnish with fresh parsley if desired and serve hot.
