Ingredients

1 lb salmon fillet, skinless and boneless, cut into bite-sized pieces

1/2 cup all-purpose flour

1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

1/4 teaspoon salt

1/4 teaspoon black pepper

1 egg, beaten

1 cup panko bread crumbs

3 tablespoons honey

2 tablespoons soy sauce

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 tablespoon rice vinegar or apple cider vinegar

1 tablespoon vegetable oil for frying

Green onions, chopped (for garnish)

Sesame seeds (for garnish)

Instructions

Prepare the Salmon: Start by cutting the salmon fillet into bite-sized pieces. Pat them dry with paper towels to ensure they will become crispy when cooked.

Season and Dredge: In a shallow dish, combine the flour, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. In another dish, place the beaten egg. In a third dish, add the panko bread crumbs.

Coat the Salmon: Dredge each piece of salmon lightly in the flour mixture, then dip into the beaten egg, allowing excess to drip off. Finally, coat each piece in the panko bread crumbs, pressing gently to ensure they adhere well.

Fry the Salmon Bites: In a large skillet, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the breadcrumb-coated salmon bites in batches (avoid overcrowding the pan) and cook for 2-3 minutes on each side until they are golden brown and crispy. Remove them from the skillet and place them on paper towels to absorb excess oil.

Make the Honey Garlic Sauce: In a small bowl, mix the honey, soy sauce, minced garlic, and vinegar together until well combined.

Glaze the Salmon Bites: Once all the salmon bites are cooked, return the skillet to medium heat and pour in the honey garlic sauce. Allow it to thicken slightly, then add the crispy salmon bites into the skillet, tossing gently to coat them in the sauce.

Serve: Remove from heat, transfer the honey garlic salmon bites to a serving platter, and garnish with chopped green onions and sesame seeds.
