Ingredients

Filling:

2 cups fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced

2 cups ripe peaches, peeled and sliced

1/4 cup granulated sugar

2 tablespoons cornstarch

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1 teaspoon lemon juice

Pinch of salt

Crisp Topping:

1 cup rolled oats

1/2 cup all-purpose flour

1/2 cup brown sugar, packed

1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon

1/4 teaspoon salt

1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted

1/4 cup chopped nuts (optional, such as almonds or pecans)

Instructions

Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).

Prepare Fruits: In a large mixing bowl, combine the sliced strawberries and peaches. Add the granulated sugar, cornstarch, vanilla extract, lemon juice, and salt. Toss the mixture gently until the fruits are well coated. Transfer this mixture into a greased 9-inch baking dish.

Make Crisp Topping: In a separate bowl, combine rolled oats, flour, brown sugar, cinnamon, and salt. Mix well. Pour the melted butter over the oat mixture and stir until crumbly. If using nuts, fold them into the mixture.

Assemble: Evenly sprinkle the crisp topping over the fruit mixture in the baking dish.

Bake: Place the baking dish in the preheated oven and bake for 35-40 minutes, or until the topping is golden brown and the fruit is bubbling.

Cool & Serve: Let the crisp cool for about 10-15 minutes before serving. Enjoy it warm or at room temperature, ideally topped with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream.
