Ingredients
  

2 large red onions, thinly sliced

2 tablespoons olive oil

1 tablespoon sumac

1 tablespoon lemon juice

1 teaspoon honey or maple syrup

Salt, to taste

Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions
 

In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat.

    Add the sliced red onions and sauté for about 10-12 minutes, stirring occasionally, until they become soft and slightly caramelized.

      Lower the heat and sprinkle the sumac over the onions. Stir well to coat and allow it to cook for another 2 minutes to release its aromatic flavor.

        Remove the skillet from the heat and drizzle in the lemon juice and honey (or maple syrup). Stir to combine.

          Season with salt to taste and let the mixture cool for a few minutes.

            Transfer to a serving dish and garnish with fresh chopped parsley before serving.
