Ingredients

1 pound ground chicken

1 cup fresh spinach, finely chopped

1/2 cup white cheddar cheese, shredded

1/4 cup breadcrumbs

1 clove garlic, minced

1/2 teaspoon onion powder

1/2 teaspoon dried oregano

Salt and pepper, to taste

1 tablespoon olive oil (plus more for grilling)

4 whole wheat burger buns

Lettuce leaves (for serving)

Sliced tomatoes (for serving)

Avocado slices (optional, for serving)

Your favorite sauce (e.g., aioli, mustard, or ketchup)

Instructions

Prepare the Chicken Mixture: In a large bowl, combine the ground chicken, finely chopped spinach, shredded white cheddar, breadcrumbs, minced garlic, onion powder, oregano, salt, and pepper. Mix the ingredients until just combined; avoid overmixing.

Form the Patties: Divide the chicken mixture into four equal portions and shape each portion into a burger patty. Make a small indentation in the center of each patty to help them cook evenly.

Preheat the Grill: Heat a grill or grill pan over medium heat and brush with olive oil to prevent sticking.

Cook the Patties: Carefully place the patties on the grill. Cook for about 5-6 minutes on one side, then flip and cook for an additional 5-6 minutes on the other side or until the chicken is fully cooked through (internal temperature should reach 165°F).

Toast the Buns: During the last minute of cooking, place the burger buns on the grill cut-side down until lightly toasted.

Assemble the Burgers: Spread your favorite sauce on the bottom half of each bun. Place a grilled chicken patty on top, followed by lettuce, tomato slices, and avocado if desired. Top with the other half of the bun.

Serve and Enjoy: Serve your White Cheddar and Spinach Chicken Burgers immediately with your choice of sides like sweet potato fries or a fresh salad.
