Ingredients

1 lb ground chicken

1 cup fresh spinach, finely chopped

1/2 cup white cheddar cheese, shredded

1/4 cup breadcrumbs

1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese

1 clove garlic, minced

1 egg, beaten

1 tsp salt

1/2 tsp black pepper

1/2 tsp paprika

1/2 tsp onion powder

Olive oil for grilling

Burger buns

Optional: lettuce, tomato slices, and avocado for toppings

Instructions

Prep the Spinach: In a large pan over medium heat, lightly sauté the chopped spinach for 1-2 minutes until wilted. Remove it from heat and let it cool slightly. This helps enhance the flavor and reduces moisture in the burgers.

Mix the Ingredients: In a mixing bowl, combine the ground chicken, sautéed spinach, white cheddar cheese, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, minced garlic, beaten egg, salt, black pepper, paprika, and onion powder. Use your hands to mix everything together until just combined; be careful not to overmix.

Form the Patties: Divide the mixture into 4 equal portions and shape them into burger patties about 3/4 inch thick. Press a small indentation in the center of each patty to avoid puffing up when cooking.

Preheat the Grill: Preheat your grill or non-stick skillet over medium-high heat. Add a drizzle of olive oil to prevent the patties from sticking.

Cook the Burgers: Place the patties on the grill and cook for 5-7 minutes on one side. Flip them and cook for an additional 5-7 minutes or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (75°C) and they are golden brown.

Toast the Buns: If desired, place the burger buns on the grill for the last minute to toast them lightly.

Assemble the Burgers: Place each chicken patty on the bottom half of a toasted bun. Top with lettuce, tomato slices, avocado (if using), and any other desired toppings. Cap it with the top half of the bun.

Serve: Serve the burgers hot with your favorite sides, such as sweet potato fries or a fresh salad. Enjoy your delicious white cheddar and spinach chicken burgers!
