Ingredients

1 lb ground chicken

1 cup fresh spinach, finely chopped

1 cup white cheddar cheese, shredded

1/2 cup breadcrumbs (preferably whole wheat)

1/4 cup red onion, finely diced

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 tsp paprika

1/2 tsp salt

1/4 tsp black pepper

1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce

1 egg, lightly beaten

4 whole wheat burger buns

Lettuce leaves, tomato slices, and condiments of choice for serving

Instructions

Prepare the Mixture: In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground chicken, finely chopped spinach, shredded white cheddar cheese, breadcrumbs, diced red onion, minced garlic, paprika, salt, pepper, Worcestershire sauce, and the egg.

Mix Well: Using your hands or a spatula, mix the ingredients together until fully combined. Be careful not to over-mix.

Form the Patties: Divide the mixture into four equal portions and shape them into burger patties about 1 inch thick. Make sure they are compact to maintain their shape while cooking.

Preheat the Grill: Preheat your grill or stovetop skillet over medium-high heat. Lightly oil the grill grates or skillet to prevent sticking.

Cook the Patties: Place the patties on the grill or skillet and cook for about 5-6 minutes on each side, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (75°C) and the burgers are golden brown.

Toast the Buns: During the last few minutes of the burger cooking, place the whole wheat buns on the grill or skillet to toast them lightly until golden brown.

Assemble the Burgers: Remove the cooked patties from the heat. Place each patty on the bottom half of a toasted bun. Top with lettuce, tomato, and any additional condiments you prefer. Place the top bun on and secure with a skewer if necessary.

Serve: Serve the White Cheddar & Spinach Chicken Burgers immediately with your choice of sides.
